Youth Meals

Most Sundays, DMYF (youth group) includes dinner. Rather than collect money each week, we ask families to provide a meal for the group ~2 times/year. A valued member of the Ministry team is our Meals Coordinator, who keeps an eye on the Sign-Up Genius, helps with communication, and trouble-shoots gaps and overlaps. When it's your turn to bring dinner...

TIME

DMYF starts at 5:00 p.m. Please plan to serve dinner at 5:30.

HOW MANY PEOPLE?
Numbers fluctuate. Please plan to feed 30 people unless you hear otherwise. Keep in mind that many youth still have child-sized appetites, and you keep the leftovers.

YOU PROVIDE
Please provide a full, balanced meal (main dish, side dishes, dessert). This is an great opportunity to model healthy eating!

CHURCH PROVIDES

  • Set-ups (plates, cups, napkins, flatware, serving utensils)
  • Condiments (salad dressing, ketchup, mustard, mayo)
  • Drinks (water, lemonade) and Ice
The Soul Café has a fridge, sink, and microwave (no oven/range). Whitford Hall has a fully-equipped kitchen.

ALLERGIES & SPECIAL DIETS
Currently, we have youth with allergies to tree nuts, peanuts, and dairy products. We also have several vegetarians.
Please provide choices that allow people to avoid allergens and meat. Label foods that contain nuts or dairy!

CLEAN-UP

Please help supervise the youth as they clean up:
  • Scrape dishes and load dishwasher (soap is under sink; please start dishwasher at end of DMYF)
  • Wipe tables and counters (wipes are under sink)
  • Sweep floor (brooms are in Annex closet, across from Soul Café)
  • Take leftovers to the chef's car, and trash and recycling to dumpsters (in back parking lot)
