Pastoral Interns
Every summer and academic year we welcome into our life together students from Duke Divinity school who join us to learn, grow, and teach as they pursue a call to ministry.
Angie HongAngie Hong is a worship leader, writer, and speaker. Before coming to Duke Divinity School, she served as Creative Director at Willow Creek Community Church and has led worship for various churches and conferences such as the Christian Community Development Association, the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship, and the Duke Center for Reconciliation. She has written about her ministry in Intercultural Ministries: Hope for a Chaging World and about her personal journey in Soul Bare. She is a contributor to Christianity Today and Faith and Leadership.
As a longtime Durhamite (2005), Angie helped to plant and lead worship at CityWell UMC, Durham Church (PCUSA), and Southeast Raleigh Table (UMC). Angie now studies at Duke Divinity School and lives right down the street from both Duke Memorial and Duke University with her husband Harold and two sons, Hudson (9) and Rowan (6). She is passionate about ministry, and wants to continue to serve Christ in the Durham community. |
Emma RankinMy name is Emma Rankin and I am a second-year at Duke Divinity School. I am from a small town in Louisiana and went to undergraduate at Louisiana Tech University. Upon my graduation, I was able to serve at the Wesley foundation on their campus for two years. During my time working for the organization, I realized that I wanted to continue to serve in ministry, so I came to Duke. I am excited about my time here at Duke Memorial UMC. I hope that during this time I not only learn how to be a great leader but how to be a faithful follower. Thank you for welcoming me into your community.

Mac AlbergottiHey everyone! My name is Mac, and I am a third year student at Duke Divinity School.
Before coming to Durham, I was a youth pastor and the director of a nonprofit in South Carolina. In the last few years, I have recognized a call to pursue pastoral ministry, which has brought me here to Duke. I'm so excited to be back at Duke Memorial this year, and I’m really looking forward to spending more time with all of you! Thanks for having me! |
