Parents Morning Out at Duke Memorial
Parents' Morning Out is our church's ministry to parents of babies and young children. PMO is staffed with loving teachers and is open five days a week for babies eight months to three years of age. Currently we have 142 children enrolled in 17 classes. Children may be enrolled up to two mornings per week. The program includes free play, music, crafts, playground time, and snacks. Parents provide the lunch. Our hours are 9:15 AM - 1:00 PM, and we are open year-round. Church members are given priority. Fee $30.00 registration and $70.00 per month for each day.

Meet Harriet Putman, Our New PMO Director

It is with great joy that I join the staff of Duke Memorial as the Parents’ Morning Out Director. I hope to continue the wonderful 22 year tradition the program has of caring for the children of our church and community.
My husband Garrett and I were both born and raised in Durham. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have spent most of my professional life working in the mental health field. Over the past five years our family has lived in Philadelphia, PA and Jacksonville, FL and we are thrilled to be back home in Durham. We moved back to Durham last March for my husband to accept a position at Burt’s Bees as well as for us to be closer to extended family. So far in being back home, a highlight has been becoming members of Duke Memorial. We have two sons: Will (3 ½) and Wesley (17 months). Bringing our sons to Duke Memorial on Sunday mornings and serving on the Children's Committee has allowed me to become familiar with the church and with the staff; all of which I am excited to be working closer with. I view the Parents’ Morning Out as a ministry to children and parents of our church and community and I look forward to bridging the gap between this ministry and those of the church.
