Children's Ministries at Duke Memorial
Duke Memorial is an exciting place for children to grow in faith and fellowship. We have several opportunities available for children and we invite you to come and join us.
Vacation Bible School
Monday, June 23rd – Thursday, 26th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
For children age 3 – 5th Grade
During this exciting hands-on week we will learn about the miraculous power Jesus gives us to be thankful, helpful, and brave and to tell others about God. In keeping with the theme of exploration we are experimenting with mixed age groups rather than traditional classes. Children will be grouped into preschool and school-age lab crews to promote social skills, self-esteem, and cooperation.
Each day young scientists will rotate through Sonic Sing and Play, Hyperspeed Games, Wacky Works Crafts and Missions, Test Tube Treats, Cinema Science, Bible Blast, and Faith Fusion Finale.
We are actively recruiting fifteen lab leaders who will provide guidance, foster relationships, promote discussion and participate in all activities of VBS with their crew of five young scientists. There is no preparation work involved, just the desire to have a good time exploring faith with eager children.
Go to www.groupvbs.com/webtoybox/myvbs/dukememorial to register your young scientist or to sign up to be a lab assistant.
For more information contact the team of lead scientists, Kimbie Sprague, sprague@nc.rr.com, or Laura Barkalow, creating4kids@nc.rr.com.

At Soul Cafe, besides the Children's Chimes and Liturgical Dance, on Wednesday evenings, we also provide outdoor recreation, supervised game room and homework space. Occasionally, we will provide drama nights, intergenerational events in the Soul Cafe, and other special activities related to the season.

MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS international exists to meet the needs of all moms who share a similar desire to be the very best mothers they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to Kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
Duke Memorial United Methodist Church's MOPS chapter provides a caring atmosphere for mothers of young children to recharge themselves, make new friends and deepen their relationships with Christ.
