Our Next Joy Club Adventure
Wednesday, October 21
We are going to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, NC. The zoo opens at 9:00am and closes at 5:00pm. Admission for Ages 13-61 is $10. If you are 62 or older the admission is $8. We will qualify for a special rate if we have 15 or more pre-registered.
Ride tram for no charge. Each continent takes about 2 ˝ hours. Several eating places, but Junction Café has more seating.
Meet at Duke Memorial around 8:30 am. We will return by 4:30 PM.

Wednesday, Nov. 11th
Leave at 10 AM; back by 3:30 PM
Go first to Pittsboro, look around at shops, eat at General Store Café about 11:45.
Then leave for Bear Creek ; go to Southern Supreme Gourmet Confections. They sell fruit cake, candies, etc.

Friday, December 11th – Visit Old Salem.
Walking tour of Old Salem, eat at Salem Tavern, visit Winkler bakery, then do
Candle Tea after lunch. Tea hours 12:30 to 8:30 PM. Reservation # for
Old Salem Tavern 336-748-8585. Open 11:30 to 2 for lunch.
Leave DMUMC at 9, return by 5
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 - Visit Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield, NC
The museum has an incredible collection of items including childhood memorabilia, film clips, costumes, pictures, magazine covers, scrapbooks. Good restaurants there.
After visiting the museum we will then go to the Outlet Malls nearby.
Leave DMUMC by 9, back by 4.
Wednesday, Feb. 17th , 2010
Tour Ronald McDonald House in Durham, takes about 30 minutes. We will also watch a video
Then to Briar Creek Shopping Area for lunch and shopping.
3 PM – Tour of Ninth Street Bakery at 136 E. Chapel Hill St. 286-0303
We will leave church at 10 AM, return by 4 PM.
