If I could have any superpower, I would have the ability to sleep past 7:00 am
What book is currently on your bedside table? I always have several. Today, the active stack includes The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd, Mindset by Carol Dweck, The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, and Stitch ‘n’ Bitch: The Knitters’ Handbook, by Debbie Stoller. I’m also working on two audiobooks: Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier and The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott by Kelly O’Connor McNees.
Best advice you would give a 20 year old. Never stop learning or doing things for the first time, no matter how old you get.
What's your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I’m a big believer in gratitude as a spiritual/life practice, and I love that it gets its own holiday. Also, it involves family, food, and naps. Since 1985, my mom’s side of the family has gathered at the NC Outer Banks for the week of Thanksgiving. We (sometimes 30+ people) rent houses, share the chores, and wallow in togetherness. Everyone comes for as many days as they can. Rick and I got married the Saturday before “Banksgiving” in 1998, and honeymooned with the extended family. We love it THAT much.
